Our History

In 1980 the late Big Danny Whited opened Lakeside Plumbing Co. It started as a drain service that specialized in landlord services. By 1992 his son Dan would start winning plumbing trophies through Vocational school competitions and go on to 1st place in Michigan. In April of 1998 Dan purchased Lakeside Plumbing Co from his father and remained lead until 2003 when he moved to Arizona. After 5 years of learning underground utilities, managing a utility locating office and learning different trade techniques, Dan moved back to the Detroit area. In 2009 Lakeside Plumbing Co was re-opened. In 2017 Lakeside Plumbing Co was crowned as one of Detroit’s top 3 plumbing companies by Metro Times. While doing good work and satisfying customers with drain service was the main focus, Dan could not grow the business to full potential without a Masters Plumbers license. In 2019 Lakeside Plumbing temporarily closed. Dan started working for a large plumbing company in Ferndale to license his plumbing and boiler experience. After a full term apprenticeship and journeyman licensing, we are proud to say that Dan is now the lead Master Plumber & Mechanical Contractor for Boiler & Plumbing Pros, LLC.
